The aim of the Club is to establish companionship with the object of fostering friendship and serving the Community.

The First Companions club was inaugurated in 1956 as an offshoot to the Rotary club. The Littlehampton Club was formed in 1961.

How does Companionship work?

It works in many ways

  • The feeling of belonging to a group of friends to relax with and have fun

  • Working together to raise funds for local needy causes and have great fun doing it

  • Coming together for Social events

Littlehampton Companions Club is open to any person who  would like to join a Group of like minded people in order to enjoy themselves and to play a part in helping organisations and individuals in the local community.

Helping the Community

The Littlehampton Companions tries to help any individual who may not get all the support they need from the statutory bodies or any other organisations. We give small grants to any individual or small group for a variety of projects or needs.

Examples of people that we have helped in the past is giving an elderly lady the means to buy a new cooker and help funding young people for a camp or outing. There are many others too numerous to mention. If anyone knows of anyone who would benefit then please contact the Charity Officer.

Any enquiry will be treated in the strictest confidence.

Meetings

The Club meets once a month for a business meeting where there is usually a speaker. There are also separate monthly dining evenings for the Men and Ladies. We also meet regularly for Social events such as Skittles and theme evenings.
